Itopride hydrochloride:
Itopride inhibits the dopamine d2 receptor at thew parsympathetic nerves ends and the metabolism of acetycholine by inhibiting the enzyme acetychlonistrease . by maintaining higher acetychloline levels, itopride increases the esophageal and gastrointestinal paristalsis,increases the lower esophageal sphincter pressure stimulates gastric motility, accelerates gastric emptying and improper gastro duodenal coordination . because of its dopamine d2 receptors antagonistic action,
It also exerts antiemetic action.
Indication :
- Treatment of gastrointestinal symptoms caused by reduced gastrointestinal motility such as feeling of gastric fullness,
- Epigastric pain,
- Anorexia ,
- Heartburn,
- Regurgitation,
- Bloting ,
- Nausea and vomiting.
