Verapamil

The antihypertensive effect of verapamil stems from a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance without an increase in heart rate as a reflex response. It has a marked antiarrhythmic effect.

Mode of Action: 

Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker which acts by blocking voltage dependent calcium channels in all cases. It is a class IV antiarrhythmic agent. It works by relaxing heart and blood vessel’s muscles.

Indications: 

Chronic coronary insufficiency, angina pectoris, coronary spasms, vasospastic angina, hypertension etc.

Side effects: 

Constipation, nausea, vertigo, dizziness, headache, flushing, fatigue, nervousness etc.

Verapamil 80 mg tablets
Verapamil 120 mg SR tablets
Verapamil 240 mg SR tablets
Verapamil 5mg/2ml injections
