Captopril

Captopril is an Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure. Main action of angiotensin II is vasoconstriction. ACE inhibitors block angiotensin coverting enzyme activity.

Captopril causes both arteriolar and vasodilation which reduces after load and preload. Cardiac output is generally increased and heart rate is reduced.

Indications: 
All grades of hypertension, Cardiac heart failure etc.

Side effects: 

Dry cough, precipitation, hypotension, rashes, vertigo, fainting, bowel upset, headache, anemia etc.

Captopril 12.5 mg tablets
Captopril 25 mg tablets

Captopril 25 mg + Hydrochlorothiazine 15 mg
